This is a newly formed group (2011) developed to provide a forum that facilitates communication and discussion, addresses problem solving and encourages professional development for nurses working in the area of mental health
Aims and Objectives
The MHN SIG is
committed to achieving and promoting the professional, educational and economic
interest of nurses engaged in or interested in the provision of mental health
services by:

Providing
a forum for the sharing of information and ideas between members to facilitate
mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Facilitating
participation in conferences, seminars and decision-making forums relevant to
the interests of members and to be involved in activities to enhance the role
of members.
- Facilitating
participation in special projects and research, complementary to raising
awareness and issues and emerging trends relevant to members.
- Raising
the public profile of MHN SIG and increase public and health industry awareness
of the value of this role.
