The Nurse Educators Special Interest Group was formed in February 2005 to address the on-going issues relating to nurse training and staff development in both the healthcare setting and academic institutions.
General meetings will be held quarterly, and will focus upon a variety of issues and challenges educators face in their workplace. These forums will also provide a great opportunity for networking with other educators and promoting peer group discussion.

In an attempt to ensure that the Nurse Educator's SIG meets the needs of both current and future members, this survey has been designed to obtain feedback and information relating to the structure and function of the group

As an SIG growing in member numbers we are constantly striving to ensure that individual needs are met. In an effort to ensure that this happens we are seeking information regarding the topics and issues that will be addressed next year. Please feel free to discuss this with your peers / colleagues and provide us with your feedback as to what you would like highlighted in next years calendar. We will then endeavour to source appropriately qualified presenters in the scheduled topic to facilitate knowledge and understanding. Email your feedback
Aims and Objectives
- To promote the cohesion and unity of both clinical and academic nurse educators.
- To advance the profile of nurse educators as a separate but integrated discipline within the healthcare context
- To facilitate a culture of peer support and active networking to enhance the individual's knowledge and experience
Membership
All staff involved in the education of nurses are welcome and encouraged to join. An annual fee of $40.00 is payable upon joining the group. Application forms are available through the ANF (Vic Branch) office, at the general meetings or download the pdf from the Resources Box.
