Are you concerned about waste and environmentally unfriendly products and practices in your workplace?

17 February 2010, 4:10pm

Nurses who are concerned about the environmental impact of single-use nursing equipment and products can contact Victorian Greens MP Colleen Hartland to find out how they can make a difference.

Single-use products are now the norm. Dressing packs, IV equipment, cardboard bedpans, disposable sterile scissors, single-use crepe bandages, wound dressing materials, disposable prepackaged syringes. Not only are these products expensive, many of them may be unnecessary and could be replaced with recyclable material. Many nurses find it distressing to work with these products and have no suitable alternative recyclable options.  If you are concerned about these issues, register your interest by contacting Victorian Greens MP Colleen Hartland.
