Prison nurses to start protected industrial action over wages and conditions - 17 June 2013
Nurses will hold two-hour stop work rallies tomorrow at 12 noon outside five prisons: Barwon Prison in Lara, Dame Phyllis Frost Centre in Ravenhall (this rally will include nurses from the Melbourne Remand Centre), Hopkins Correctional Centre in Ararat and Loddon Prison in Castlemaine. Prison nurses to take protected industrial action over wages and conditions - 13 June 2013
Approximately 60 nurses employed in medical clinics in 10 prisons across Victoria will start taking protected industrial action on Tuesday 18 June to secure improved wages and working conditions. [ READ MORE ]

Eastern Health uniform allowance update - 7 June 2013
Members would be aware, Eastern Health recently decided to cease paying the Uniform Allowance to those employees not required by Eastern Health to wear a specific uniform. The ANF (Vic Branch) challenged that decision in the Federal Court on the basis that, while there may not have been a requirement for a specific uniform, nursing and midwifery employees are obliged to wear particular styles and types of clothing nevertheless.
