Graduate nurses

Information for graduate nurses and nursing students about to embark on their graduate year.

Each year in Victoria about 1600 Division 1 registered nurses start their graduate year. ANF recognises that providing support for nurses in their graduate year is important both for the individual nurse and the health sector's ability to recruit and retain nurses. Studies have shown that a graduate nurse's first six months are crucial because this is when they either decide to change professions or develop a commitment to a nursing career.

ANF has been conducting graduate nurse information sessions at health facilities outlining ANF services and the enterprise bargaining process. If you would like ANF to visit your workplace or if there is anything more you feel the ANF could do to support you as a graduate nurse, call ANF Graduate & Final Year Officer Toni Coughlin on 03 9275 9333.

If you are a graduate nurse notify the ANF membership department on 03 9275 9313 so you will receive information relevant to your graduate nurse year.
