Cash bonuses for nurses who return to residential aged care

Division 1and Division 2 registered nurses who have not worked as a nurse in Australia for the last 12 months may be eligible for cash bonuses of up to $6000 to encourage them to come back to work in residential aged care.

The Federal Government's Bringing Nurses Back into the Workforce program is an initiative to support recruitment of 1000 nurses into residential aged care.

The Royal College of Nursing Australia has been engaged to administer the aged care component of this new program. 

Under this initiative, registered or enrolled nurses who have not worked as a nurse in Australia for 12 months or more may be eligible for cash bonuses to encourage them to come back to work in residential aged care homes.

Eligible nurses who have returned to work in a residential aged care home on or after the 15 January 2008 may be eligible to receive the cash bonus.
