Education Centre

Students, nurses, midwives and personal care workers attending the ANF Education Centre have access to quality teaching and support staff, materials and modern facilities with well equipped classrooms, conference rooms, clinical nursing and computer laboratories, and an extensive library.

The centre incorporates the only Registered Training Organisation (RTO 3601) in Victoria focusing solely on enrolled nursing, offering the Diploma of Nursing (HLT51612). The Education Centre also offers a comprehensive, nursing-focused professional development program for qualified registered and enrolled nurses, registered midwives and personal care workers.

The ANF Education Centre is conveniently located at ANF House, Levels 1 and 2, 540 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne which is near the Queen Victoria Market and public transport.

The comprehensive course program includes:

  • accredited courses including HLT51612 Diploma of Nursing (enrolled/ Division 2 nursing), units leading to qualification for enrolled nurses to administer medications, Certificate IV in Training & Education (TAE40110) and HLTFA301B Apply First Aid
  • clinical courses including IV cannulation, catheterisation and clinical updates
  • short courses focusing on a variety of areas in clinical practice such as palliative care, wound management and management of drug and alcohol addiction
  • legal and ethical practice courses.

The ANF (Vic Branch) Education Centre program is advertised in the ANF (Vic Branch) monthly journal On The Record, the regular ANF members e-newsletter and on this website in the Course Calendar

Operating on a not-for-profit basis the ANF Education Centre aims to offer high quality and reasonably priced courses, seminars and workshops many of which also include significant discounts* for ANF members, Job Reps and ANF Special Interest Group members. Membership discounts are only offered for certain courses. Discounts are not available for government-funded courses. Courses may also be tax deductible. You are advised to ask your tax consultant for advice.

ANF continuing professional education online
As an ANF member you can access online continuing professional education at a reduced rate and maintain a record of all topics you have undertaken through ANF and other sources. Member $7.70 per topic. Non-member $30 per topic.
