This campaign is now closed. This section provides background information about the 2007-2008 Victorian private sector nurses enterprise agreement negotiations.
A statewide meeting of almost 150 private acute sector Job Reps on 23 August 2007 endorsed the ANF claim for the 2007-2008 round of enterprise bargaining for nurses in the private acute sector.
The key claims include:
- increased wages
- initiatives that promote recruitment and retention of nurses and midwives
- improved career structure for division 2 nurses
- proper recognition of on-call
- improved workloads
The claim once achieved will assist private employers to recruit and retain nurses in the private sector, improve patient care, ensure a safe working environment and create sustainable businesses and ongoing viability of services.
Most of the current private acute sector agreements were due to expire during the latter part of 2007. Where agreements have already expired the nurses and management had agreed to negotiate new agreements after the public sector agreement is finalised.
