Mental Health agreement still not resolved

Proceedings before Commissioner Gooley at Fair Work Australia on Monday 24 September 2012 did not take place because neither the Department of Health or VHIA were available.

Unfortunately since then there have been no other meetings or conferences to resolve this matter. Accordingly, ANF has today written to HACSU, the Department of Health and VHIA expressing on behalf of our membership our absolute frustration at the delay in finalising the agreement which is preventing a ballot and payment of benefits to members.

ANF has called for an urgent meeting of the parties and has ensured ANF officials and the office of the ANF are available for this meeting. If a meeting does not take place or there is no resolution at that meeting ANF has already sought the assistance of FWA to list a hearing on Thursday 11 October 2012.

ANF rejects the misleading statements being made by other parties about the reasons for the delay in finalising this agreement and assures members that ANF is focused upon finalising these agreements as quickly as possible so that mental health nurses can receive the wage increases and benefits that their counterparts in the general public sector have already received.
