The protected action ballot result for RDNS members concluded at 10am this morning. The count of these ballots was conducted at this time by the Australian Electoral Commission with ANF and RDNS present.
The result of the protected action ballot is that 94% of those who returned their ballot paper have voted YES to the right to take protected industrial action. This is a fantastic result that demonstrates members' endorsement and commitment to ensure an acceptable outcome for RDNS members is negotiated. The result of the protected action ballot sends a clear message to RDNS management that their current wages and conditions offer, including the reduction to personal leave entitlements and other existing terms, is unacceptable.
The ballot result enables members to consider and vote on undertaking a course of protected industrial action in order to advance negotiations and to protect current entitlements and conditions.
An important statewide ANF meeting of RDNS members is scheduled for Tuesday 12 June 2012 at 4pm at ANF House
The ANF will provide a report back on negotiations to date and also provide the opportunity to discuss and vote, as necessary, to determine implementation and timeframes for the taking of protected action in the future in the event that RDNS do not suitably revise their offer to ANF members by this time.
