Psychiatric nurses vote yes to agreement

12 January 2010, 11:08am

Public sector psychiatric nurses have overwhelmingly voted to accept the final draft of their agreement.

The agreement is a variation of the 2004-2007 agreement including the changes nurses voted on in October 2007 and contained in the deed. This agreement will expire in November 2011. ANF has applied to Fair Work Australia for its approval of the agreement.

Ninety-eight per cent of nurses voted by telephone in favour of the agreement which includes wage increases, new entry points, new increments, new and changed conditions comprising telephone allowance, childcare expenses, on call arrangements, parental leave, long service leave, on call preceding a rostered day off or day off and improved consultation arrangements.
