Public Sector EBA Update No 26

4 September 2008, 1:44pm

The Statewide Agreement Implementation Committee (comprising ANF, the Victorian Hospitals Industrial Association (VHIA) and the Department of Human Services (DHS)) met on 3 September to discuss the non-compliance of a number of health services with some of the outcomes of the 2007 Enterprise Bargaining Agreement, including:
  • resus and 2nd triage in Level 1 EDs
  • new ED ratios in regional and rural hospitals
  • new post & ante natal Midwife ratios
  • 8:8:10 rosters at Mansfield and West Gippsland
  • the 50% rule EFT allocation.

DHS has advised ANF and VHIA that it believes all services have now received funding advice to enable implementation of the above. DHS has committed to checking this and advising ANF and VHIA.

VHIA has committed to advising health services of their obligations to implement the above.

The Committee is scheduled to meet again on 12 September 2008.

As advised in Bulletin 25, ANF is also seeking legal advice as to ANF's options to enforce the agreement in the event that employers continue to refuse to comply with the EBA outcomes.
